Himalayan "Amber" Beads

These polymer beads are representative of antique amber especially treasured by the people of the highlands of Indian, Nepal, and Bhutan.  Beads such as these are handed down in the family and, if they break, they are carefully repaired.

Each bead is handmade by Amala Beads Worldwide and is a careful blend of several colors of polymer clay that have been shaped, cured, sanded, patinaed, and polished.  The bead caps, very similar to the white metal bead caps used in the originals, are repurposed pewter buttons from Norway.

Average size 23 x 24 mm.  Average weight 14 g.

Priced at $8.00 per bead.
